My 1st book WENA was published and released on women’s weekend 2010. The whole process took me about 2yrs, I dug up some old poetry and wrote some new ones, for my 1st collection.

Wena which means ‘you’ in a lot of South African languages was originally a song I did about an affair with a playa. *but I clearly wasn’t done venting, so I wrote a book about it.

The book explores various themes ranging from woman abuse, absent fathers and boy problems.

I got to travel South Africa promoting it and even launched in Tanzania. In March 2012 I will be launching in Botswana. The vision is to do the whole of Afrika.

My book is also slowly (but surely) being introduced into the school system....which really feels good. It also recently became available internationally.

Wena was written for my little sisters to look up to; my peers to relate to; and my older sisters to look back on and laugh at!

It’s very me and very free spirited. The journey was unexpectedly emotional and long....I just scraped through towards the end;-) It ended up paying off as it did well on the markets.
